A student from our enhanced provision for Autism wanted to sing in assembly. Obviously we needed help from our students. Silence on entry. Waiting to applaud until heโ€™d put his ear defenders on. The next videos show how important empathy is and how remarkable YP are 1/4

This is one of my favourite moments with Numicon! Showing intervals and reminders on a number line โค๏ธ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป Also, apologies for the song choice but who doesnโ€™t love a-bit of star girl ๐ŸŽถ #Throwback

Teachers who fight for children to get places in Special Education/Alternative Provision don't do it because they want to 'get rid' or 'ship them out'. They do it because they care for them, and want them to thrive in a setting that's designed to best cater for their needs.

Since the day I started at my school, I kept every email from a parent, personally thanking me. I finally had time to print and put in a jar. I love it!

Chen keeps 35 pigeons. If every day six pigeons eat 42 mice, and there are 9 bags of feed per mouse, then how many glasses of malbec will a Year 6 teacher need tonight?

I don't think today's reasoning paper in Maths can possibly give a true picture of where our pupils are. Convoluted questions, often out of context, and deliberately written in ways that children (and teachers) won't have seen before. Our children deserve better than this. #sats

Hello - I wrote a new blog about the teaching of whole class reading, which I haven't in a while. It's over 9000 words so quite a read, but I hope the comprehensive nature of it comes across as helpful, rather than patronising. Anyway - hope it's useful! mrboothy6.wordpress.com/2025/01/03/whoโ€ฆ

I urge everyone to share this post. Disgusting treatment by Waitrose & Partners My daughter Sadie Travis used to work with this young man, who is a lovely lad. He deserves better. Shame on Waitrose๐Ÿคฌ

I believe that Waitrose & Partners need to offer this young man a paid job. This experience shows how in some circumstances "volunteering" and work placement schemes can exploit chronically ill, disabled and neurodivergent people. This needs to stop.

Teachers donโ€™t lose their spark because they stop caring. They lose it because they care too much. It's a system that keeps asking for more while giving less. And when that spark goes out, the world becomes a little darker, colder, and lonelier. ~ Dr. Brad Johnson
