Due to social distancing associated with the Coronavirus, MSHA has informed Mine Operators that they will grant a 30-grace period on a case by case basis to get their Annual Refresher training completed. Operators are urged to utilize virtual training options to complete training

MSHA's exception does not apply to new miner training. New miners must be trained before beginning work. When Emergency Declaration is lifted, mine operators should work with their respective district offices to ensure that all certifications are conducted in a timely manner.
