You can talk about sewage You can talk about leaks You can talk about bills But you can't talk about public ownership in the "biggest review of the water industry since privatisation" ⁉️ If you object, tell the commission before deadline Weds 23rd April weownit.org.uk/act-now/water-…

Fining the water companies doesn’t work, they factor them into their plans. The government should enable the courts to take shares in the water companies instead of fines as a first step towards public ownership. #WeOwnIt

What utter nonsense. Nothing but playground politics masquerading as policy. Since when has rearranging the deckchairs, regurgitating an existing, failed 30 year old bit of legislation been seen as progress? 🤔 Oh and today was the day that the National Audit Office published

It was great to see so many at the #paddleoutprotest in #Broadstairs. There was a lot of support from everyone else on the beach too. Regulation hasn't worked and isn't likely to. Water companies need to be bought back into public ownership. #surfersagainstsewage

Rather than fines, that are passed on to the customers, why not take £122.7m worth of shares as a first step towards public ownership? #weownit

As per usual, Feargal Sharkey is on the money about this sham of a review which was doomed to fail when the terms of reference forbade them from getting into the nub of the issue. Corporate greed (£84bn shareholder dividends & £74bn debt) and exploitation of customers.

We have over a million more houses than households, more houses per person than in the 70s yet prices are high than ever. Second home ownership has also increased by over 50% in the past decade. The problem isn’t bats or newts it’s greed.

Lots of talk about the welfare tax bill lately… A suggestion: Before pointing the lazy finger at the people our media tells you to hate Look up At the billion-pound firms refusing to pay fair wages You know… The ones posting record profits while taxpayers subsidise the
