No, it’s not normal for teachers and principals to “retire” in their 40s. This is actually a resignation, and most are leaving for jobs in the private sector, but we’re calling it “retirement” so that it sounds better. And it’s happening far too often.

Seems to go against productivity and the way people like to work. Longer commutes, less family time. Have to wonder where this push back to the traditional office is coming from. And I'm speaking as a classroom teacher who can't work from home.
