The Screening Report narrowed the original 6 alternatives down to 2. Alternative 3B scored highest on project goals, while 2B and 3B enhance transportation and regional growth. Both alternatives are still preliminary concepts that will change as public input is gathered.

Myth ❌: The Mid-States Corridor will only save a few minutes of travel time. Fact ✅: The Mid-States Corridor saves 14½ minutes during peak travel times and 7 minutes on an average daily trip from one end of the county to the other.

Myth ❌: RCIs can't accommodate large vehicles. Fact ✅: RCIs are engineered to accommodate semis, school buses, & farm equipment. The design features mountable curbs and added room for wide turns to ensure larger vehicles have the space required to turn safely.

Myth ❌: Interchanges are best. Fact ✅: Interchanges are safer and efficient, but they also come with significant impacts and costs. Reduced conflict intersections (RCIs) rank second in safety performance and have a much smaller footprint, reducing impacts and costs.
