Fitting that this pops up in my notifications as we talked about the confusion and controversy of CUE in class this morning...

So excited for my 5th (and final‼️) AGU (American Geophysical Union) of my PhD - & I’ll be presenting *quite literally* ALL of of my PhD research!Come hear about the post-fire soil microbiome at my talk in the FICUS town hall Tues (TH23L), my poster on Wed (B33J-2374), OR my talk on Fri (GC51C-05)!

Are at AGU (American Geophysical Union) and love the soil microbiome? Wildfire? The soil microbiome AND wildfire?!?! Come to my poster this afternoon (#2374) to see my bold attempt to fit all 3 of my PhD chapters onto one poster 😅

#Wildfires don't stop at property boundaries. The PODs process is a framework for cross-boundary, collaborative planning and #science-based, risk-informed decisions about fire. See the story map by our Wildfire Risk Management Science Team. #FireFriday arcgis.com/apps/Cascade/i…

My grandpa who is 85 started making this rock map of Scotland in 1992.He collected rocks during amateur geology trips over 30 years. He says it had to be geologically correct and also aesthetically pleasing. He asked if I could share online as He wants to go viral so please share

Proud to share our paper in which we review the molecular-scale transformations and biogeochemical interactions of soil organic matter and metals induced by wildfires and explore their impacts on post-firehuman health and ecosystem recovery. ⁦#wildfire nature.com/articles/s4301…

Big news!!! I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve started a postdoc position in the The Banfield Lab at UC Berkeley looking more into the role of the soil microbiome in generating stable soil C. Looking forward to this chapter and new, exciting science questions & systems!

My 3rd PhD chapter with @wilkinslab is now out in ISME Communications! We use an 11 year wildfire burn scar chronosequence in CO/WY to discern whether different microbial life history strategies help taxa thrive/survive in burned soils 🦠🔥 academic.oup.com/ismecommun/art…

We had an amazing turnout to listen to our Colorado State University Next Generation Sequencing Core Director Jessica B. Henley talk. The interdisciplinary microbiome research network built through hashtag #CoSMic and Group of Researchers Across Microbiomes (GRAM) is strong!
