After a few rough days during student teaching... I broke down one day after struggling to connect. I hadn’t learned out to ask for help at that point (still learning lol!). My CT finally told me worthwhile advice. I’m not here to “fix” students, I’m hear to teach and LOVE them!

A5: During my 1st year, I’ve noticed inequities in students who are already in SpEd programs. Many think that they don’t deserve or need the same type of education as students in GenEd...when in reality they just need the right modifications. Thankful @SPEDhawks agrees!

A6: Especially while I am wfh, disconnecting is HARD. My computer is always a few feet away from me. At the end of each day, I try to get outside and ride my bike! Allow me to break out of my “work mode.” And anyway, staying in my apartment all day everyday just isn’t healthy🤦‍♀️

Said goodbye to my first school family today at Hortons Creek ES. That place and its people have changed me for the better. It is the most bittersweet feeling. I will miss everyone so much, but can’t wait to start my next adventure at South Garner High School!! Go Titans!!!
