The Class of 2019. Tonight our Year 12 Cohort were joined by their families and Mercy staff at St. Thomas’ Church in Terang for their Graduation Mass. Many thanks to Mrs. Jo Saunders for organising this lovely night.

A lot of fun was had yesterday at the annual Staff Vs Year 12 Soccer game. Staff were victorious as usual winning 3-0😉

A bit of fun today for the Year 12 Cohort who swapped their uniforms - many looking like they enjoyed the experience! Year 12’s will have their last day at Mercy tomorrow.

Today is World Teachers’ Day. This day asks School communities to “recognise and appreciate teachers and the important role they play in shaping the next generation”.

Mercy’s VCAL ‘Grind & Grow’ has gone disposable cup free with the introduction of a boomerang keep cup system. Whilst we use biodegradable disposable cups, we wanted to provide our customers with a more sustainable option if they didn’t have a keep cup🌿

The College is seeking nominations from interested parties to join our Board of Management and our Building, Planning and Finance Committee.

Mercy has had a number of students exit school in 2019 to go into either an Apprenticeship, Traineeships or Full Time work across Year 11 & 12. We need to celebrate these pathways offered and thank local businesses for giving our students a pathway into their chosen profession.

Congratulations to Year 8’s Grace Bone who has been through the Ball Kids training, survived the progressive culls and has now been selected as a Ball Kid for the 2020 Australian Open! 🎾

Our Year 7 Girls Super 8’s cricket team became State Champions today at the Junction Oval in Melbourne - fantastic result!! All girls contributed in some way and as always demonstrated terrific sportsmanship to defeat McKinnon Secondary College by 56 runs.

Congratulations to Mercy Regional College’s 2019 Dux - Sondi Guthrie with a ATAR score of 90.65 and was also Dux of five of her six subjects- Biology, Chemistry, English, Specialist Maths and Mathematics Methods.

Congratulations to all our age group champions and record breakers at the annual Athletics Carnival this Tuesday! Well done to Ryan House for winning the House Competition with 702 points.

The MRC Parent Forum that was scheduled for Tuesday, 27 October will be postponed to later in November. In this meeting there will be consultation with MRC Families in regard to masterplanning.
