On this day in 1987, in Seville - the 7th game of the fourth World Championship match between Garry Kasparov & Anatoly Karpov. Here, chief arbiter Geurt Gijssen is at the board as the game is adjourned. It was eventually drawn in 79 moves. (📷via gpntb.ru.) #chess

Duolingo for 10 minutes daily and listening to the languages I learned improved my reading and comperehension skills of Russian and German to a great degree which is very useful for both my chess (Russian books) and Philosophy. #chesspunks #LanguageLearning #Duolingo

Daily training yealds results. I just made one of my best ever results scoring 6/9 winning against 2200+ and drawing against four 2050+ rated players. 6/9 +50 rating, not too bad! #chesspunks

"Casually" drawing in 200+ moves against 2170 while playing last 120 moves on increment. Held to a draw 2 bishops and 2 pawns vs 2 bishops and 3 pawns. Endgame training is important! Next game I held another 200+ rated player in a slightly worse rook endgame! #chesspunks

I am playing a classical tournament after 8 months. I am so off form that I can see it in my calculation and decision making. In the span of 48 hours I drew against a 2250 IM, 2230 FM and against a 1700 player. Ah the highs and lows of chess. #chesspunks

Abdusattorov beats Mishra after blitzing out 34 moves of preparation! 🤯 At the end Nodirbek still had 1 hour, 43 minutes on his clock: chess.com/events/2025-xt…

I have made a video analysis of some of my games for my students. Sound quality is with some background noise so I am nervous to publish it but if you wish you can message me and I will send you the link. #chesspunks

Feels good to gain a significant amount of rating at least in one time control after several months of poor results. My main focus will be on classical chess but it is very time consuming and difficult. Hopefully I will play at least 50 classical games in 2026. #chesspunks
