Please let's not talk about the US "getting dragged into" a war with Iran. A US war with Iran would be an unforced choice. Gaza has pretty much burned through any public tolerance for feigned helplessness and pretending our leverage doesn't exist.

Would now be a good time to ask why we never had a root cause analysis of why we invaded & occupied Iraq, and why the people who lobbied so hard for that ill-fated regime change war are still in positions of power and influence? Like, I don't know, maybe there was a lesson there?
