1 in 4 workers rely on Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) when they’re too ill to work. But at only £117/week, it’s not enough for most to live on. Our new report shows what happens to people's ability to afford their essential costs if they have to rely on SSP.🧵1/ citizensadvice.org.uk/policy/publica…

Just over a year ago my PIP review was launched. By the time I got the letter in the post, I realised I had just 3 days left to prove my entitlement. Otherwise, my PIP might be stopped. That just isn’t enough time! New blog below ⬇️ wearecitizensadvice.org.uk/race-against-t…

There’s only one descriptor you can actually get 3 points for. All the others go up in even numbers only. So either this means rewriting the descriptors or the person proposing it doesn’t understand the system It’s just another arbitrary change.

The government's proposed cuts to disability benefits could impact millions of people. If it passes, it will send hundreds of thousands of disabled people (and their children) into poverty. One of those people is Anita* ⤵️ wearecitizensadvice.org.uk/anitas-story-1…

We’re asking all MPs to vote against the UCPIP Bill today. The government’s own impact assessment says the cuts will plunge 150,000 people into poverty by the end of this Parliament. This is likely an underestimate and says nothing of the people already in poverty who will sink

Citizens Advice have joined 86 other organisations in calling for the Government to withdraw its damaging UC and PIP bill. There is too much at stake for disabled people for this bill to be rushed through Parliament without proper scrutiny.
