On 7/10/25, SPD attended the groundbreaking of Miami Int'l Airport’s new VIP terminal, PS MIA, the 1st private commercial airline terminal in the US. This project negotiated by SPD will preserve the historic Pan Am building and is expected to generate $16M+ in revenue for the County. #miami

On 7/21/25, SPD attended the groundbreaking of a Phytosanitary and Cold Chain Facility for PortMiami and @iflyMIA. The project, procured by SPD, will generate $318M in revenue, boost trade, enhance public health, and position Miami-Dade County as a leader in agricultural imports.

On 4/28/25, SPD launched the 4-day pilot program for the County’s first ever certification in public procurement - the Miami-Dade County Certificate in Public Procurement (MDC-CPP). All 28 procurement professionals in the pilot successfully obtained the 3-year certification.
