Objectively these are small values, but seeing this graph is very motivating. I don’t expect things to continue at this rate and we might even see things drop again. But it’s nonetheless encouraging to see Google send traffic our way.

I've been looking at different methods for detecting duplicates between job posts. I experimented with Dice Coefficients, for instance. Since semantic similarity is particularly relevant, I gave OpenAI's Embeddings a try too. Pretty good results overall re embeddings!

When people talk about AR/VR is about a UI paradigm shift. But what if AI is the bigger driver here? Ultimately they seem complementary, but AI is a UI paradigm shift with or without AR/VR.

I've tended to associate remote work with tech jobs, like programming. However, since the pandemic, the adoption of remote has rapidly accelerated in other sectors too. Ryan Bednar wrote a bit about how the demand for remote nursing jobs is surging! remotejobs.org/blog/remote-nu…

We're about to wrap up May and it's been an incredible month of growth for RemoteJobs.org. Google is consistently sending us traffic and it continues to look like that's on an upward trend. Looking forward to June, we're looking to double down on growth.

We're ending May with the first vestiges of growth. In many ways, we're ahead of where we expected to be at this stage so this is quite an exciting moment. While not yet visible in the graph, this week we're seeing a new increase in traffic.

I enabled CSS inlining and it seems to pretty consistently return better Lighthouse performance scores. We were hovering in the low 90s (sometimes even the high 80s) but so far I'm seeing mid to high 90s after the change.

Hey indie and #buildinpublic folks. 👋 For a limited time, we're offering free job postings: remotejobs.org/remote-jobs/ne… Have a remote role or contract? Consider posting it for the extra visibility boost. Posts are aggregated by Google and can show up in Google Jobs.

Another quick #buildinpublic update: May was a big month for RemoteJobs.org. We've hit 2k clicks, well ahead of where we thought we'd be at this stage. It's impossible to say if this growth will continue, but early signs continue to be strong.

Search Console Insights seems to expanding its usefulness. This chart gives us a sense of growth over the last month. The nearly-1,000% uptick is moderating a bit this month, but growth is still continuing.

Am I the only one or is esbuild a bit of a nightmare? I’ll be the first admit that my needs are a little uncommon: I have a monorepo with a front end and several backend components. I need to share code between these and I want end-to-end type safety. But damn it’s painful.

Another #buildinpublic update: We've seen a noticeable uptick in pageviews since implementing the Google Indexing API. This rolled out on June 9th and the next day you can see a clear increase. h/t Rodrigo Rocco 👨‍💻📈📗 from JobBoardSearch 🔎 for mentioning this. Thank you for pointing me at the right docs! 🙇‍♂️

Another milestone: we've surpassed five thousand active job postings on RemoteJobs.org. There's been lots of talk about future of work recently, but it's clear we're only seeing more interest in remote over time.

We're working on a mascot + logo for RemoteJobs.org and need your help #buildinpublic friends. Of these sketches, are there any that are particularly appealing? We're going for a fun vibe that helps us stand out a bit.

Does remote work increase or decrease productivity? I've heard every opinion under the sun, but few arguments have looked closely at the data to answer. That's why we put together a detailed look at what the data actually says: remotejobs.org/blog/remote-wo…
