Students pitch their 'low-cost and easy' and 'long-term' event and activity ideas to Jason and Josephine of the Ops team. Great presentation skills everyone! #TakeoverDay Kids in Museums
We loved all your ideas! Here are a few of them: #Tudor food 'bushtucker trials' Hatch the dog sculpture trail around Portsmouth Subtitles and braille for better accessibility Pulling the weight of a real anchor Chairlift ride over the ship What's your favourite? Kids in Museums
The Digital #TakeoverDay fun is kicking off early over at The Mary Rose! Check out young people's posts by following the hashtag.
What a great bunch of creative ideas 👏 Particularly love the chairlift idea - maybe you can get some tips from JORVIK Viking Centre! Make sure you're tuning in on Friday to see what other ideas young people have for #museums! #TakeoverDay
Great to see the #TakeoverDay teams love lots about The Mary Rose already and were inspired to think of ideas for others, not just their own age group - including toddlers and people with special needs. Well done everyone!
A group of Y8 students visited the Mary Rose Learning on a free trip funded by stemunityuk! They investigated some properties of water including surface tension, experimented to find why the Mary Rose may have sunk, explored the ship & met one of the divers who helped excavate it!
So lovely to welcome the Portsea Sailors and The Literacy Hubs to The Mary Rose. We had a welcome from Dominic Jones, a premiere of their documentary and Pippa Bostock celebrated in their certificate ceremony. Thank you so much for joining us!
Great to see the The Literacy Hubs latest film created by students #StGeorgesBeneficial who interviewed #MaryRose divers as part of their project.
The #MaryRose Dive Team, who were interviewed by children for #MaryRose40 film, give out certificates to celebrate #StGeorgesBeneficial pupils achievements! The Literacy Hubs
Happy Birthday to the incredible and fabulous Kids in Museums I know we Mary Rose Learning and The Mary Rose love it when we get to work and collaborate with them
A special, and very poignant, service took place at Portsmouth Cathedral this morning in remembrance of The Mary Rose, and to commemorate those who sadly lost their lives on the 19th July 1545. Portsmouth Cathedral ☩
Ever keen to learn new ways of talking about the Tudors, our staff and volunteers have been exploring Leeds Castle, Kent and Hever Castle over the last few days! Looks like they enjoyed themselves!
