Sharon Machlis now at Mastodon & Bluesky This is easier on Debian and Ubuntu thanks to Dirk Eddelbuettel and Michael Rutter. Their PPAs make pkg updates a lot faster. This won't help if your pain is due to breaking changes in the pkgs though. You have to make careful dependency choices to avoid that pain.

#JSM2020 Been to two invited sessions, and both have been very disappointing in terms of the software used for the presentation. Either no slides or very small.

Great talk by Stephanie Kovalchik at #JSM2020 on calculating effective shot values in tennis in real time. But I missed the most important thing: was the real data red or green? My vote is for green as the real data.
