So Apple’s email categorization feature is finally here with iOS 18.2 beta. Wonder why it took years to get this ready tbh 🤔

About the SE 4 — the designs I’m familiar with have all feature a standard iPhone 14-style notch, no idea where the Dynamic Island stuff came from. I don’t believe that was ever a thing, unless it was developed as an alternate hardware configuration.

I can independently confirm that Apple’s “26” version branding is real. The change is buried within OS distributions tho, not visible at first glance. Internal versions of macOS tested this week are labeled “macOS 16” in some places, and macOS 26 in others.

Along with the updates planned for WWDC, Apple has been working on iOS 18.6, macOS 15.6 and related software releases. It looks like they plan to use builds from early April 2025 for the dev beta, from what I can gather.

Apple has removed placeholder names like macOS 16 from the developer betas set to debut today. Interestingly, next year’s release of macOS (codenamed Honeycrisp) is still labeled “macOS 17.0”

The smart song transitions feature I wrote about last year apparently got delayed. Looks like it’s now in macOS Tahoe under the name AutoMix.
