Today was a great day! The Margin2Centre team created an entire health literacy session tht was interactive & easy to understand. The research, proposal, creation, training & execution all by us! I’m immensely proud of the team & I couldn’t improve access to healthcare w/o them!

#HappyWorldHealthDay "Today on World Health Day 2023, let's take a moment to appreciate the invaluable gift of good health. It is not just a personal asset, but a shared responsibility that we owe to ourselves and to the society we live in.

As medical professionals, we have a responsibility to separate personal values from our professional duty. We are human, so we don’t always get it right. But to organise a medical fraternity around the denial of necessary medical services is unconscionable and unethical. 6/8

If you agree that accessible, safe, quality abortion services should be available for women of all backgrounds in Jamaica, please consider supporting @margin2centre. Our medical advocacy focuses on vulnerable women, shifting services and conversation to centre their needs. 7/8

Books like these make necessary and useful information, that teens and pre-teens ✨should✨ have access to, about themselves and their bodies easy to digest, age appropriate and full of diverse perspectives and of course, accurate science backed knowledge! Happy reading!

Happy Pride Month! 🌈 reminder as we head into this wonderful month that the commercial visibility of Pride over the past few years has often excluded the voices of those most marginalized. 💗

Advocacy through #HealthEducation! In April we executed a #HealthLiteracy project w/ the Adult Learning Centre in Kingston. Thanks to the volunteers and participants who made this initiative so impactful! Together, we're expanding #AccessToHealth for underserved communities 💪🏽

It’s true! If your periods stop you from doing your regular activities, talk to your doctor. And doctors, listen to your patients! Pain is NOT normal, treat it as such and assess your patients thoroughly.

We were so grateful for the opportunity to talk about feminist analyses of reproductive healthcare with students from the gender studies department! Samantha represented us well 🥳

Yeah, and my instinctive response is to push back. A policy is easier to change than a law. And institutions exist to serve us, not the other way around. Discrimination serves no one. This is some of the work Margin2Centre is trying to with health systems.
