Learn how to highlight a single data point among a distribution in #PowerBI; no custom visuals required. Bonus if you like D&D, cause we're analyzing the statistics of monsters. It's summer after all, let's have fun with it. 📝 sqlbi.com/articles/highl… 📽️ youtu.be/l0DETT4QR_Y?si…

New #TabularEditor 3 update! Check out the release blog: blog.tabulareditor.com/2024/08/14/tab… #ssas #azureas #powerbi #fabric

I just tried Tabular Editor 3.17. It opens very quickly now (2 seconds). Game changer for quick fixes for which I was still using TE2. Great job Daniel Otykier !

Honestly, a slow report makes people angry, but a wrong report can fire you! Make sure the numbers are right. Then optimize. Stay safe! #Honestly #WorkSmart #StaySafe

Ever had the need to convert a Direct Lake model to plain ol' Import-mode? There's a #TabularEditor script for that... linkedin.com/pulse/converti… #PowerBI #Fabric #DirectLake

Still using Gen1 #PowerBI Dataflows and need a way to version control them? If you don't have Bring Your Own Storage but do have Azure DevOps, I’ve got a Polling Method that can help. Check out the details in this article: blog.kerski.tech/bringing-datao…

One of the few golden rules in DAX is to always filter columns and never filter tables with CALCULATE. This article explains the rationale behind the rule. sqlbi.com/articles/filte… #dax #powerbi

Honestly, you should get a book. A book has the maximum information density.  Books are good! #Honestly #WorkSmart #buyabook

It is time to use the bookmark for the thread below 👇 More important, read the article. It is long, accurate, and on real data (no Contoso/AdventureWorks/Taxi). It's the first deep review on #copilot for #powerbi, likely on AI for analytics in general. Brace yourself.

Honestly, DirectQuery is for the rich! Set your expectations right. You cannot optimize DirectQuery to perform like Import mode. #Honestly #powerbi #directquery

Marco Russo Everyone that talks to their Snowflake sales rep will be told DQ is the best when working with Snowflake data. Yea, it can perform decently, but still pales in comparison to import. The main reason is money flies from your bank account to Snowflakes with each visual query

Tristan Malherbe (@datatouille) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Ed Hansberry - MVP Marco Russo 100% agree ! We have so many clients in DirectQuery to Snowflake or BigQuery. It's crazy expensive and usually very slow. Long live to semantic models (in import mode 🙂).

Christopher Webb (@cwebb_bi) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I write a lot about #PowerBI DirectQuery performance tuning because I work with a lot of customers using DirectQuery. I agree with Marco: Import is always faster, cheaper and easier.

Singularity moment. 🤖 I listened to myself dubbed in Italian by AI from an English-recorded video, and I wish I could speak Italian (my mother tongue) with the same clarity.
