TROPICAL STORM FRANCINE officially developed in the Gulf of Mexico Monday morning. The latest forecast cone from the National Hurricane Center has the system eventually pivoting to the NE and intensifying to a Category 1 hurricane by Tuesday evening. (See thread)

The TX coastline can expect increased rip current risks along with tropical rain/wind. Rainfall totals in TX will be highest near the Brownsville area. While we could maybe see some iso showers east of I-35 late Tues-Wed, Central TX is forecast to remain on the dry side.
