We are only two days from the season officially opening for data collection! Given the snowpack in much of the state, it is highly unlikely we’ll get movement anytime soon but in the meantime, be sure to get certified and adopt your sites! Link to our website in our bio!

In the spring, on nights when conditions are right — mid­-40s, rainy — frogs, toads, and salamanders are on the move, often crossing roadways. We have movement confirmed! Anything from spotted salamanders and wood frogs to four-toed salamanders and green frogs were seen tonight! The first documented movement of amphibians in Maine’s 2023 season is officially March 23rd!

Saturday 4/1 has a *chance* of movement - if rain persists into the night in your area, keep an eye out for any amphibians moving!
