ARPA-H has landed across the pond! 🇬🇧 It’s our 1st day in the UK on our 1st international trip w/ Renee D. Wegrzyn. Follow us this week on the #RoadAhead as we learn about the health & biotech ecosystem in the UK. Morning stops Cabinet Office & Department of Health and Social Care. Thanks for hosting us!
Harnessing the power of life sciences - across all sectors - has a substantial impact on patient outcomes. A useful cross-government discussion to bolster the UK as a world leader in clinical trials and innovation, including NIHR Research supporting UK's life sciences industry.
Very pleased to have hosted a business reception for Foreign Secretary David Lammy. Excellent exchange of ideas between some of the brightest minds within the 🇬🇧🇮🇳 tech and business ecosystem and great to have met the winners of the UK-India HealthTech Bootcamp 2024.
Honoured to join David Lammy in India and launch Global AMR Innovation Fund's partnership with C-CAMP. This partnership will innovate new ways to tackle environmental #AMR for a healthier, safer and more prosperous UK, India and beyond. Delighted that National Institute for Health and Care Research features in the UK-India Technology Security Initiative launched in India by David Lammy, to drive forward our partnership with India that will benefit the health and wealth of both our countries.
We just announced two new quantum research hubs co-funded by National Institute for Health and Care Research and Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, as part of a £100m boost to UK quantum research. We hope this exciting new technology will help us detect diseases such as cancer more quickly, improve patient outcomes and support our NHS.
Fantastic to join Baroness Merron to see @UCL research and life sciences facilities, including UK Dementia Research Institute. National Institute for Health and Care Research is also investing in the best science to maximise opportunities for collaborative learning and improve the lives of people impacted by neurodegenerative diseases.
More than 5.4m participants have been recruited to NIHR CRN-supported research during the past 5 years in England. Making research more accessible and delivering research to the right populations is a priority for the NIHR. Lucy Chappell Find out more: nihr.ac.uk/news/more-rese…
Great to see that Wes Streeting MP visited the NIHR HealthTech Research Centre in Leeds Accelerated Surgical Care HRC to see some of the fantastic technologies our NIHR research centres are developing in partnership with patients, clinicians, industry and academics. #HealthTech
This National Institute for Health and Care Research paper on the learnings of the COVID-19 PANORAMIC trial stresses the importance of primary care research in future pandemics. A must-read for primary care researchers. A big thank you to all those involved. #PandemicPreparedness
We know that data is key to the future of health and care research and will allow us to unlock the benefits of #AI. That's why we funded this ground-breaking work through our NIHR Research i4i programme and supported its development through NIHR Imperial BRC #ResearchPoweredByData
Great to be part of ACRO's latest Good Clinical Podcast discussing UK clinical research and how upcoming changes at National Institute for Health and Care Research will help us build workforce capacity & capability, support research in more settings and strengthen research infrastructure acrohealth.org/good-clinical-…
Wonderful to launch this programme which will strengthen our clinical trials infrastructure. We will be working across National Institute for Health and Care Research infrastructure to ensure people from all communities can take part in research that brings access to new medicines to communities across the UK.
