As part of DT, Year 2 have been learning how to use appropriate pieces of equipment to prepare food. We will soon be making yummy wraps which we will take home for our families to enjoy!

We celebrated NSPCC number day today! The children dressed in some amazing outfits and completed some fun maths activities as well as raising money for the NSPCC!

An immensely proud day for Bedonwell! For the first time in our history the year 6 boys team played in the Kent county finals. They were magnificent in every game winning the final on penalties 5-3! They go on to represent Kent in the southern counties finals in March!

The Year 6 Boys team continued their cup run yesterday after school. Playing in the 3rd round of the Kevin McCarthy cup. They brilliantly in a great game and came out 4-0 winners! Well done boys!

Year 3 have taste tested a variety of foods that are seasonal in the UK in May and June. They thought about taste, texture and also appearance. We used our sense of smell as well as taste to help us describe. We will use this information when we design our own seasonal tarts.

Year 5 had a visit from The Wonderdome last week, the children got to enter a giant dome in our school hall and inside got to travel through space seeing the moon, planets and other stars as a part of their current science topic.

Some children from Year 3 went to a Change For Life Festival held at Hurstmere School. They had a great time playing different sports and activities and the children won the Self Belief award at the festival!

A battling performance this evening from the Year 6 Boys Football Team coming back from 2-1 down at half time, to win their quarter final of the Kevin McCarthy cup 3-2. Well done boys!

Year 3 visited Kent Life yesterday, they had great fun visiting all of the workshops on The Egyptians. They learnt about the mummification process, dancing like an Egyptian and even how to dress like an Egyptian as well as having time to see the animals and play in the park.

This week we hosted our first Multi Skills Festival at Belmont. It was a great way to introduce some brand new games to year 2’s from Belmont and Bedonwell Junior, Infant and Nursery Schools We had some great feedback from the parents who stayed to watch and some happy children taking part! Well done! ⭐️

The Year 6 Boys Team continued their winning ways in the football league this evening winning 5-0! They played brilliantly throughout and showed great teamwork in the match!

Year 3 have started learning about Light. We know light travels in straight lines and when an object blocks the light, it creates a shadow. We went outside to observe our shadows.

Year 4 had a wonderful Anglo-Saxon and Viking workshop last week. The children got to dress up and use some of the weapons the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings used, They also got to learn about life in those times!

Year 6 have been writing about what it would be like to be in London during The Blitz. They have used brilliant description and excellent vocabulary to show the true horrors of living through that time.

In year 5, children have been learning about techniques for making animations. Today they tried out stop-motion animation using the iPads and Playdoh!

The Year 6 Boys B team played a friendly this evening against Belmont. Some of the boys had not played for the school before but they instantly clicked with those that had. Wonderful teamwork and perseverance from all of the boys which resulted in a 2-0 win! Well Done Boys!
