We SHOULD solve the affordable housing crisis. We need to permit & zone, replace abandoned buildings, and utilize our urban spaces more efficiently. We DON’T need a sell-off of America’s public lands — or more urban sprawl.

Another completely inexplicable decision by the current administration. This has a direct ripple effect on not just observations but all modeling we use to forecast hurricanes. This will directly degrade hurricane forecasts, full stop.

So this item was just approved retroactively. Basically an agreement to detain immigrants in Miami-Dade jails for ICE, with insufficient funds to cover the cost and allowing ICE to block the county from releasing public records from those detained in its jails.

***NOAA suspending critical hurricane-forecasting satellites*** This is not a political post – but rather a notice that a vitally-important satellite used to probe and track hurricanes will be discontinued within a week. This will have noticeable negative impacts on hurricane

BREAKING: In a stunning moment, Republican Rand Paul just exposed that Donald Trump’s big, beautiful bill will drastically increase the deficit. Make sure every American sees this.

I've still not received an official answer from NOAA or Department of Defense 🇺🇸 on the rationale for discontinuing the data if the satellites are still operable. If it's cybersecurity related as I've been told, why a month reprieve? Why the initial rush to permanently turn off the data?

We knew this day could come but here we are. The 2026 proposed NOAA budget shutters all world-class federally funded meteorological, oceanographic, and climate labs in America. Included is HRD/AOML/NOAA, a fixture for over 50 years in Miami. Hundreds of top scientists tossed.

Cages in a tent with your tax dollars. Not hurricane safe or flood proof, costing us the taxpayers millions of dollars for an environmentally damaging and inhumane political stunt.

The Senate just passed the Republican tax bill 51-50 thanks to a tie-breaking vote from JD Vance. Lisa Murkowski voted YES on the bill. The three Republican NO votes: Thom Tillis Rand Paul Susan Collins All Democrats voted against the legislation.

If this is the standard for deportation, a lot of our friends and neighbors in Miami are in trouble. l've interviewed a lot of people who made bad decisions and got involved in a culture and lifestyle prevalent in Miami during a certain era, particularly among young immigrants.

Republicans are still trying to pass their Big Betrayal Bill. They held the previous vote open for hours—and STILL don’t have their shit together. Maybe the problem isn’t the vote count. Maybe it’s the bill. You can hold the vote open all night…trash is still trash.

I said we’d learn over months, but it only took two days to follow the money. Three of the contractors profiting from ‘Alligator Alcatraz’, bankrolled campaigns for DeSantis and FL Republicans. This corruption has to stop, that’s why I’m running for Attorney General.

I took a different approach to telling the forecast in today's newsletter. I may not have the opportunity in every 2-minute TV update, but it's a small thing to add to my articles. I hope others will consider similar strategies to underscore what's at stake.
