Is it a rock, or maybe a mushroom? No, it’s sand food (Pholisma sonorae), a rare, parasitic plant that thrives in the shifting sands of the Sonoran Deserts. The unique herb grows from the roots of other plants like buckwheat and ragweed, and can stretch up to two meters tall.

Science and Art are not separate things!!! There is beauty in science!!! There is science in art!!! Why do we have to put everything into teeny tiny boxes instead of allowing for joy and wonder and curiosity???
