Cool work being presented at #IARC2018 here at Scripps, showing a connection between atmospheric rivers impacting South Africa and moisture transported from the Amamzon through low-level jets

Looks like temperatures may have maxed out at the Albany airport at 97, but the dew point is rebounding fast up to 75 here! We have another shot at 100 tomorrow to break the 65 year streak. #nywx

Now that I have some time on my hands, I decided to make a gif of my final project for a numerical methods course! A simulated cold pool dropping into a warm layer with temperature perturbations shaded, perturbation pressure in contours, and vectors for wind.

Chance for severe storms to develop this afternoon, with the biggest threats being gusty winds. Stay alert for the rest of the day! x.com/nwsspc/status/…

While today seemed to be the best chance for server weather in #StateCollege, today's sounding and lack of sun keeping down those chances

No better to spend this first day of class than to forecast severe storms! Tornado watch effective until 9PM, so watch out this evening!

Any interest in atmospheric chemistry/carbon modeling/just seeing me? Stop by my poster (1144) so I can explain my summer research! #AMS2018
