A massive fire today destroyed the Morrison Hotel in downtown L.A. Firefighters tell me dozens of homeless people were living inside the vacant building. The Morrison was famous from the legendary 1970 Doors’ album and was considered a landmark in LA.

SAD FAREWELL Sam Moore of the soul duo Sam and Dave (Soul Man, Hold On I'm Comin', I Thank You, etc) has died at the age of 89. I saw him and the original Dave in concert a few times. Great performers. RIP
