Every once in awhile there is an author who is so acutely connected to childhood that they write about something like fear of a shark in a swimming pool who wants to eat you and you alone, and you feel so seen because who doesn’t connect to that kind of nonsensical anxiety? 👏🏻

Promoting NIST Int. School ‘s upcoming visiting author by charting who has read her books. We are excited to see how these numbers grow leading up to the visit and can’t wait to visit with @jtbigelow in a couple of weeks!

The best part of my job is that I get to coordinate visits and thus spend time with authors I love and respect and somehow get paid to do it. @jtbigelow was phenomenal at NIST Int. School ! Our kids are still buzzing.

This is me launching a full-scale investigation to figure out how Amelia Bedelia made it onto my top 10 borrows of the last 30 days list and Dog Man and Minecraft did not. What in the 1980's-nostalgia is happening right now?!!

I concur! StoryGraph’s reading data is actually amazing. I’ve been tracking my genre/style/author data by hand for years. This is life changing for a data-obsessed reader. Now, give me a kids version.

We launched new break-time play sets in the library yesterday and our imaginations are hard at work. Libraries as safe spaces means more than just a place to read. ♥️

You know when you read a book and it feels like the author is writing just for you? A MG novel based on The Yellow Wallpaper?! My heart!

There will never be a @macbarnett book that I don’t immediately order and fawn over, but Sydney Smith has outdone himself this time and I cannot get over the light from the window here. Fangirl with me, internet!

Just a quick (reader, it was not quick) ditching of Dewey before the winter break. 8,000 books shuffled into new categories. Thankful for my team who will continue in my absence, and for a dear friend who frequently came in to take process photos knowing that I wouldn’t myself 😂
