Grit is missing in a lot of society: - People want to move into an HGTV home - Have an immediate high salary job - Get immediate fame or make instant money You want a great life, you'll have to work for it... And despite what people tell you - it's very, very hard.

Doing the right things isn't enough to live the life you want. You must also stop doing the wrong things that take you off track.

Have you ever had 10 perfect days in a row? Me neither. Please don’t beat yourself up when things go wrong or you mess up. You’re a person, that’s life, it’s normal.

Life hack: Do what you said you would, when you said you would do it, even when you don't feel like it.

If you could get all the people in the organization rowing in the same direction, you could dominate any industry, in any market, against any competition, at any time.

Everything rises and falls on leadership. Your ability to align crews, resolve conflicts, and inspire execution determines project success more than any technical skill.

Knowledge isn’t power. You can know a lot, and sit in your house all day doing nothing... While the person who knows half as much, takes action and laps you. Act. Have some Audacity, Take some chances & go for what you want.

Don't tell me your priorities, show me your calendar. It’s not that we don’t have time. It’s that we don’t have time for the things that are really important. There’s always enough time to do what’s really important, but we get caught up doing things that aren’t important.

Hard pill to swallow: Most of your limitations are self-imposed. If you want something, there’s always a way - your mind just won’t let you see it.

"Never stop learning." Sure... But if you aren't building anything: - Your life - Your health - Your systems - Your mindset - Your leadership - Your unique gift to the world The knowledge will never turn into wisdom "Never stop learning (and building.)"

If your project is failing, the answer is systems. If you have systems, the answer is data. If you have data, the answer is insight. If you have insight, the answer is action. If you take action, the answer is consistency.

Become someone whose self-worth is so solid that you can focus entirely on making others feel valuable.

Normalize not having an opinion on things you don’t understand.

The more people think about you, the larger and more authoritative your presence becomes.

When looking for new team members, seek diversity. The biggest mistake we make it hiring people we like. If we like them, it’s usually because they are like us. We need people with different skills and points of view. Don’t hire people you like; hire people you respect.
