Flashback to Jan & launch of #Lewisham Borough of Culture. Delighted to see our Lewisham College Know Your Worth performers projected across Piccadilly Circus. Now who can say they’ve done that? Lol

Imagine watching theatre with no lighting, no set design, no costume, no sound, no SM. Unless we start introducing these job roles at school, our FE courses offering these areas will and are disappearing. HE and the industry will feel it soon . This is critical. 💀 🎭

Theatre Industry: seriously we have an issue. FE recruitment for Production is at an all time low a sure impact of the ongoing demise of drama & arts at school. The fall out for FE, HE & ultimately employing a new generation will b catastrophic! WE MUST ACT NOW 🎭 🤜 but how?

Production family, if you r able, go back to your school, college. Let them know your journey, let the kids see someone who looks like them, lived the same experience, let them know it’s possible despite the lack of signposts, people saying it’s not reliable . BE CHANGE MAKERS.

Our new production students have started well this year designing & lighting stage sets for their favourite artists. Kalyan has never designed a set before. We think he’s done rather well.

More interesting set design concept drawings. This is Kalyan’s version of Eel Marsh House from The Woman in Black. Interesting take on light and shadow.
