Sorry for the lack of art posting as of late, there are things in the works. Was dealing with a particularly nasty human being and it has been so, so draining. Finally had to block the number of said individual. Maybe I can start healing now.

Once again juggling multiple paintings, I find it easier to be productive when I switch back and forth until completion, (I usually lock in about halfway through though). This is a mountain lion I started over 2 weeks ago. As usual, wax pastel and water soluble graphite sketch.

Want to draw but I’m discouraged by the contrast between my current skill level and where I’d ultimately like to be. I see improvement but wish it were more drastic, I think every artist experiences this, just gotta push through.

I think the biggest thing I need to work on is my range of facial expressions and getting muzzles/maws down. Hard to do when you can’t study animals with human-like expressions. Gonna follow some tips from Riches… (also an excuse to watch old animated films).
