Somehow blasted through several paintings a few years ago as Christmas gifts. This was one of them, a pensive pachyderm for a good friend.

Once again juggling multiple paintings, I find it easier to be productive when I switch back and forth until completion, (I usually lock in about halfway through though). This is a mountain lion I started over 2 weeks ago. As usual, wax pastel and water soluble graphite sketch.

Imagine fighting to keep crime alive and well in your own city…looking out for your citizens doesn’t look like this.

Want to draw but I’m discouraged by the contrast between my current skill level and where I’d ultimately like to be. I see improvement but wish it were more drastic, I think every artist experiences this, just gotta push through.

I think the biggest thing I need to work on is my range of facial expressions and getting muzzles/maws down. Hard to do when you can’t study animals with human-like expressions. Gonna follow some tips from Riches… (also an excuse to watch old animated films).

The hell!? YouTube needs to do something about the content being pushed for kids. There is a bunch of absolute garbage.
