Mourning the passing of Joan Simpson, a friend and colleague and one of the great journalists in San Joaquin County history. She was an editor for The Stockton Record features section for more than 50 years. RIP to a legend.

Our 47th Valentine’s Day, celebrated in Kona, included proof of the beauty and power of the planet, from glorious oceanic sunsets to once-in-a-lifetime viewing of a volcanic eruption. There was food, Kona coffee and Hawaiian shirts. Looking forward to number 48 Kerry Klocke.
