Bunch of people assuming that the reason I am harping on the Biden age issue is that I want him to lose to Donald Trump. This is wrong; I'm voting for Biden, or whoever the non-Trump candidate is. So why am I talking about it? Three reasons.

We live in a time increasingly resembling the second half of the 1930s. I couldn't live with myself with the knowledge I didn't do more to stop another Hitler. In light of the Republican wavering and in memory of Navalny I will give $100 towards FPV drones for Ukr for every RT.

So what though? The alternative is to put in your best prospect and have them ground away into irrelevance in the first year of a new government

lots of people are rightly complaining about this but imo the biggest reason it's awful is that if your kid is going to school on 100% of days, they are "100%" getting the other kids in that class sick with something horrible

When economists were asked about Labour's variant of the idea, from left to right everyone panned it. It's a terrible idea. Newsroom might as well be publishing 'climate change isn't caused by greenhouse gasses' takes.

BREAKING: The Misuse of Drugs (Pseudoephedrine) Amendment Bill has just passed unanimously. Effective cold and flu medicine is coming back to a pharmacy near you.

@TB_inaleakyboat So: forced amalgamation of ed colleges into unis, combined with uni norms on publishing reinforced by PBRF requirements, shifted focus away from teaching teachers using proven methods into critical discourses about the power structures of pedagogy etc. See also: accounting.

🇬🇪 World, are you still watching? Tonight might have just been the biggest gathering of Georgians marching in Tbilisi against the russian violations and law infiltrating the Georgian government! Please watch, share, stand with the brave people of Georgia!🇬🇪 #NoToRussianlaw

If you didn't object to there being TWO days to submit on the last Parliament's Local Electoral (Māori Wards and Māori Constituencies) Amendment Bill, I'm not especially inclined to listen to your concern with the SIX days allowed for written submissions on the bill reversing it.

Remember the RNZ story (republished broadly) claiming internal police documents put a $7.8b figure on the social cost of alcohol? Police communications staff have confirmed that it's just the old BERL number. But the OIA docs RNZ got had other interesting bits.

You'll ask GPT-5 a question and it'll get back to you seven years later, extremely depressed, having answered a totally different question by developing a novel and incoherent theory that will be debunked when it turns out a single decimal point was misplaced in an obscure line

It is good that the Greens are principled enough not to go to the waka-jumping law. Every day Darleen Tana remains an MP is their doing for selecting her in the first place. Let them take their lumps

Nate Silver (@natesilver538) 's Twitter Profile Photo

For the record, it's worth noting nearly all of the clout-seeking Can't-Dump-Biden stans seamlessly transitioned to being extremely enthusiastic for Kamala Harris but whatever, I'm already well past my quota of fights picked for the year.

Lew (@lewsos) 's Twitter Profile Photo

More special pleading. The waka-jumping law under which the Greens exercised this power makes no distinction between electorate and list MPs And the Greens, for obvious reasons, have long declined to regard electorate MPs as being in any way superior to or separate from list MPs
