I'm sad to share the news of Paul Berg's passing today. Paul was one of the greatest 20th century biochemists who founded Stanford Biochemistry. He was a friend and mentor who I will miss dearly. His passion and advocacy for science and education was infectious.

The Stanford Medicine community mourns the passing of Nobel Prize winner and recombinant DNA pioneer Paul Berg. His work set in motion the field of genetic engineering, which has led to lifesaving drugs and opened new avenues of genetic research. stan.md/3EiXNtA
