We have a great forensic team. I had the opportunity to serve as the lunch speaker today at the Forensic Conference at Brasstown Valley Resort in Young Harris today. I’m excited about the future with this incredible team.

We are getting excited about the upcoming Recovery Bus Tour happening during the month of September. Look for it at a stop near you. Had the opportunity to do some filming for for the tour with my friends at Georgia Council for Recovery today.

Enjoyed a great dinner in Columbus tonight with our Columbus Hospital Administrator Marcia Capshaw, Nurse Executive Nicolise Claassens, recent contest winner and Hospital FST Devron Wright and his sister Jakia. My oldest daughter is in medical school in Columbus and joined us.

It was good to sit down with Condace Pressley today to film People 2 People on Channel 2 that will air on September 9th to discuss 988.

Enjoyed the opportunity to address the Association of County Commissioners today in Pickens County. I am thankful for the working relationship we have with this organization.

Great meeting this week with our Chief Medical Director Dr. Risby and Dr. Cochran from our Atlanta Hospital. We have big plans to continue to address our workforce.

I had the honor to present the Commissioner’s Champion Award to Bobbi Cleveland today at the MATCH Committee. She has chaired it since it was created. She is retiring and will be missed. The MATCH Committee works across agencies to help kids with high needs. Thank you, Bobbi

Always a honor to be able to speak at the annual Georgia School of Addiction Studies conference in Savannah. I was also able to stay for the awards luncheon. Congratulations to all the winners that are making a difference and saving lives every single day.

Thank you to Lumpkin County Commission Chairman Chris Dockery and Dahlonega Mayor JoAnne Taylor for hosting a community mental health event today. I was pleased to serve as their speaker. I love this community and had the honor of serving as their State Representative for 4 terms

We had the opportunity to meet with Linnea Miller, other local elected city officials and leaders with GMA today to discuss continuing to improve mental health services.

Since we opened our Dodge Jail Based Restoration Center, Summer Edwards and her staff have done incredible work. I was honored to join the DBHDD Board in recognizing Summer and the entire team with a Board Resolution for their work.

What a great day. We kicked off the Third Annual Recovery Bus Tour. The bus will make 75 stops all across Georgia spreading the message that recovery is real. We are happy to partner with Georgia Council for Recovery to make this happen.

Very productive meeting today with the new Executive Director of the CSB Association, Vanessa Cameron. Looking forward to continuing a successful partnership.

It was great to join Georgia Council for Recovery, Jeff Breedlove and Brookhaven officials in their city for the Recovery Bus Tour this afternoon.

We had a great day in Dalton, Georgia today. It was a double event. We welcomed the Recovery Bus and held a Behavioral Health Reform and Innovation Commission Addictive Disease subcommittee meeting. Great job by everyone involved. Good things are happening across Georgia.

What an insightful meeting between members of our Opioid Abandonment Trust team and researchers from the Ralston Institute of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities from the University of Georgia. The Ralston Institute is doing amazing work.

Always a productive day when we are in Middle Georgia. The day started at RiseUp signing an Opioid Abatement Settlement Trust contract awarding CSB of Middle Georgia and RiseUp a grant. I then got to speak at the Dublin Rotary Club.

What an honor to be able to speak at the 7th Annual Official Recovery Lunch at the Buckhead Club. Tremendous group of recovery leaders from all across Georgia.
