Haiti is enduring a humanitarian crisis marked by escalating violence. Families face immense hardship, with half of the population urgently needing aid. Working with authorities, IOM - UN Migration 🇺🇳 is providing clean water, health care and psychosocial support, but more is needed.

The conflict in #Sudan continues to devastate lives and livelihoods. It has set off the world’s largest internal displacement crisis, worsened by famine. Countless lives rely on humanitarian aid, we must come together and scale up action to support the most vulnerable people.

Over 20,000 people have been displaced due to extreme violence this week. IOM is on the ground, assessing and preparing for an emergency response. Nearly 1,200 families in two sites assessed this morning need water, shelter, and protection. IOM is coordinating to provide relief.

After being brought back to the Ocean Viking, a little girl lost her heartbeat. She was resuscitated on deck, before being medically evacuated to Malta. We are devastated to learn that the 7yo did not survive. Once again, a lost life that could have been prevented.

The Secretary-General urges all parties to make every effort to prevent a return to hostilities in Gaza. He calls for humanitarian aid to flow back into Gaza immediately and for the release of all hostages.

After nearly 14 years of war, Syrians are returning to their homes, so far 750,000 are back in their places of origin. Most are in destroyed buildings but happy to return amidst the challenges of rebuilding.
