Thanks @ECSAssociation for the opportunity to present my research on the feeding rate of the non-native Asian date #mussel at your conference this week. There was a great selection of talks, including those by Andy van der Schatte Olivier and Zoe Morrall about Project RaNTrans.
A very successful boat trip this week! We collected lots of lovely mud samples which will be used for understanding what species the Asian date #mussel occurs with. Couldn't have done it without Charlie Mountain and Lucy Martin.

A great day out on RV Callista this week with University of Portsmouth Masters students, learning about different sampling methods and practicing ID skills. We thought this tiny 3 cm #squid may have been a type of bobtail, called "little cuttlefish". Thanks for having us University of Southampton
Seems like a normal underwater encounter: largemouth bass goes after a minnow...right? Wrong! The little fish is a bivalve, a mussel, that mimics a minnow to spray its parasitic larvae into the gills of an actual fish. 🎥U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service B. Billings R. Hagerty
