What could have been…#OTD in 1936 Poland lost its chance to play in the finals of the Berlin #Olympics. The 3-1 loss to Austria was played in front of 90,000 at the Olympiastadion. It was the biggest match to date in 🇵🇱 young #History. The team ended up taking 4th place overall.

In 2007 Groclin Dyskobolia was the last 🇵🇱 club to grace the famous Marakana in Belgrade. A 1-0 loss sealed their fate in the UEFA Cup. Adrian Sikora👇(good player) missed a few chances. Better finishing and a clean sheet likely required for #LechPoznan to advance in #UCL. #fkcz

WKS Śmigły Wilno (Vilnus)— named after Poland’s pre-war leader Marshal Edward Śmigły-Rydz — played just one #Ekstraklasa season (1938) before WWII. The military team was established by garrison officers in 1933. It was one of a handful of 🇵🇱 teams from the Eastern Borderlands.
