Not long ago under Keir Starmer we opposed the Conservatives plans for the mass surveillance of people’s bank accounts if they were claiming benefits. Today Labour voted for exactly that. I didn’t because it’s another stigmatising attack on the poorest.

This statement by rank and file Unison members about the treatment of the union’s president makes extremely serious allegations. There needs to be an urgent independent investigation into this matter.

Israel continues to block aid to Gaza & people are starving. It’s time now to override Israel’s blockade & for the UK to deliver by air & sea the food & medicines the Palestinians desperately need. Children are dying & we can’t stand by whilst Israel commits these war crimes.
