Language of God episode came out today with Francis Collins and Deb Liu, who is the CEO of Ancestry, and a former VP at Facebook. We talked about genetics, women in tech and science, Christianity in tech and science. Lots of fun.

Recorded a conversation with Ellen Davis Duke Divinity School yesterday about an agrarian reading of the OT. Listen for it this fall on a podcast series about food.

This conversation was about suffering and death during the pandemic, but Keller's words strike us in a new way today. Rest in peace.

I didn't have a personal relationship with Tim Keller (I hosted one livestream with him). But someone I know and respect greatly -- Francis Collins -- did have a close relationship with Keller. And his tribute makes me wish I had known him too. biologos.org/post/a-tribute…

I wonder how Paul Bloom would respond to this, given his "The Sweet Spot: The Pleasures of Suffering and the Search for Meaning". Or Rebecca Solnit given her "A Paradise Built in Hell: The Extraordinary Communities that Arise in Disaster"?

"God is not satisfied with finding his creation good; he wants it also to find itself good." Simone Weil How are we doing on that one?

"Grown-up people are not strong enough to exult in monotony. But perhaps God is strong enough to exult in monotony. It is possible that God says every morning, 'Do it again' to the sun; and every evening, 'Do it again' to the moon." - G.K. Chesterton.
