One of our guiding themes this year is exploring Jewish languages through literature & narrative arts. So, we were delighted to hear about Dr. Nora Gold's new book "18: Jewish Stories Translated from 18 Languages," out now from Academic Studies Press. Mazels! 👏 academicstudiespress.com/cherry-orchard…

Baking and sharing food can be a source of comfort during challenging times. We cooked up today's Fun Fact by kneading together information from ANU - Museum of the Jewish People's database of Jewish family names and Alexander Beider's Dictionary of Ashkenazic Given Names.

Shkoyekh Arun Schaechter Viswanath & Yugntruf - Kinder-Loshn Publications! We're pretty sure this is the first time we've seen a #Yiddish #kidlit story translated from Faroese (an Old-Norse-based language similar to #Icelandic). The original puffin tale was written & illustrated by Jenny Kjærbo.🐧🥚
