One thing that I love about prequel books is the small references authors are able to slip in. They don't ruin it for people who haven't read the original series, but instead are these sly little titbits for those who have. (I'm re-reading The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.)

Working 60 hours a week has meant that my brain has been absolutely devoid of inspiration. Or rather, I'm so consumed by my work that anything that could develop from a scattered mess into coherency isn't given a chance.

Super excited to be working on an article right now. 500 words into the first draft, pretty certain it's going to hit 1.5k and need a lot of cutting down if I'm not careful. I've been so exhausted from work that I've spent a lot less time writing. I'm glad my brain still works.

First draft is done! Re-read in progress and ready to submit, and it only took a day. Could it have been a tighter turn around? Yes. But my godson demanded attention and I'm too nice to refuse

I'm trying to get used to writing to tighter deadlines but it's so so difficult with a full time job. I really need to find both the self-discipline and motivation to write more regularly

I did a 15 hour work day yesterday, finishing at midnight and suddenly got inspiration as I was climbing into bed. 100% knew I had a long day head today. So naturally I stayed up for another two hours to write. On an unrelated note, how much coffee is too much coffee??

30 hours over two days, done. Extremely tired, and I know Monday is going to be a full day of me recovering but at least it's done and out of the way. Now to drink as much coffee as possible so I can function still
