The largest intact Roman mosaic floor discovered in Turkey, dating back to the sixth century, is a remarkable find. The mosaic, found in Antakya, covers an impressive 1200 square meters and features unique geometric shapes and non-repeating figures, likely designed for a public

Finally got round to reading ‘Travels With Herodotus’. What a fantastic book. Ponderings on the nature of history and the past particularly interesting to any trial lawyer, so often delving into the past to discern ‘truth’. There is no past/truth,only infinite renderings of it.

4 ordinary lads (except that 3 of them were very very clever) who astonished themselves (and in my case, everyone else, too) by getting into Oxford nearly 35 years ago. Still right up there with the proudest, happiest, most important achievements of my life.

This is a fantastic paper. In the stampede towards ‘transparency’ we have to be more vigilant about agenda driven ‘reporting’ on these sorts of issues. familylawweek.co.uk/articles/alien…

We’re v lucky to have this world class panel of medical experts and a keynote from Baker LJ. All are welcome, including non Harcourt barristers. But you need to register your interest now.

SIHIS: firstly, you can’t apply a sort of groupthink ‘expert’ algorithm to every case of suspected infant head injury. Everyone who knows them knows that. Secondly, what about justice being seen to be done? Or are we disapplying that in children’s law because it’s too expensive?

Sickening to see some of the vile racism reported this week, directed at the Prime Minister. He represents a British identity and history global in reach, far bigger than Little England; sealed by the blood of millions, who volunteered to fight for our freedom in both World Wars.
