Keir Starmer was flattened at #PMQs this week. 🤐 The front bench: silent. 🤥 The PM: floundering. 🤫 The answers: non-existent. He was reaching for the Civil Procedure Rules. He really needed a different type of CPR after that interchange.

Connor Naismith MP It will create money through growth / when people move they spend money on removal vans, new kitchens, decorators etc etc / gets Britain moving and everyone is happier. Much better than taxing folks to death!

Excellent ideas! We are currently the only nation stupid enough to tax education and Angela Rayner's "workers rights" is just a charter for unemployment. Kemi Badenoch has nailed it; proper Conservative policies

NEW‼️Bankrupt Birmingham Council is spending thousands on a taskforce to tear down 'unauthorised' flags. Patrol officers will embark on a month-long blitz to remove the Union Jack and St George's Cross - but Palestine flags will stay. The city's mayor is Muslim Zafar Iqbal. 🇬🇧

Very serious, and powerful, allegations made by former Conservative Security Minister Tom Tugendhat against Keir Starmer and his Labour Government over Jonathan Powell’s secretive links with China and the bizarre collapse of the Chinese espionage trial (The Sun Harry Cole)

-She went to Harrogate Grammar: "'Outstanding' in all five areas of the Ofsted framework" -Labour are increasing the fees she complains about -Gove's reforms pushed English schools up the international league tables while Labour-run Wales collapsed down

Victoria I suspect we shall see this echoed across the UK when we finally see census data next spring. At 10% migration the policy is a proven failure, raising no revenue & burdening state schools further.

When Labour announced VAT on private school fees, they promised it would raise £1.7 billion for state schools. With 25,000 pupils already forced out, eight times more than predicted, the policy is on track to cost taxpayers money rather than raise it. A thread🧵

Here's what that means for taxpayers. Every one of those 25,000 pupils costs the state £8,200 per year to educate, while Treasury loses the VAT they would have paid. The combined hit is already approximately £300 million annually.

The damage extends beyond education costs. Scotland's independent schools generated £548 million in economic value and supported 11,670 jobs before VAT. That base is now shrinking at 6.7% per year. Lost jobs mean lost income tax, national insurance, and economic activity

When the evidence shows a policy will cost more than it raises, the only fiscally responsible choice is to scrap it before the damage compounds further.

Anne Strickland Parents: We want to fund our kids education ourselves Labour: No the fuck you won't. We will put that burden on Govt to educate them at £8600 per kid per year of public money. Plus we get the satisfaction of not letting your kids get ahead in life.

Catastropheebs (@noeducationtax) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Anne Strickland There will be many 1000s of disabled children displaced by this policy. When you factor in the additional learning support & EHCP costs and, for many of us, tribunal costs - it’s astronomical. All completely avoidable.

Anne Strickland As I’m sure you are aware Labour putting VAT on school fees was never about making 💷for the treasury. Only a Labour supporting fool would believe that. It was about dumbing down. They can’t raise the state school standards so kill the private sector to “level” everyone down.
