This is ahistorical. The Church Committee, for example, was incredibly successful in gutting the CIA in 1975, which had led to the catastrophic intelligence failures of 1979 (among others) and arguably the agency still hasn't recovered.

The Guardian published photos of so-called "journalists" killed in Gaza. I found 14 listed by the Committee to Protect Journalists as members of Al-Aqsa TV, a US-designated terrorist group that the US says "recruits children to become suicide bombers." This is who the Guardian is mourning.

Let me tell you, Mr. Dalio is so courageous for this. So few among our affluent classes are willing to talk about how our Democracy is in Danger (TM).

This is performative silliness. This will not make any antivaxxers or skeptics reconsider their positions. The stories of 9 parents who didn't vaccinate their children, suffered the consequences, & regret it would do more to persuade them than 9 former CDC directors.

For most of my life, the proposition "this country's gone to hell since the damn 1980s" would unquestionably mark the utterer as a Democrat
