Shocked at how fast Kurakhove is falling to the Russians in Donbas I remember a pleasant few days there in late 2015, living with the family of my Russian-language (and deeply pro-Ukrainian) teacher - themselves displaced from Donetsk - before heading to now-obliterated Mariinka
