Already 1 yr since my book on PAR was published. After several presentations F2F/online, blog posts and podcasts, the BEST part are the people who reach out to share their thoughts and ask to work together. More and more people are keen to use #ParticipatoryMethods #PAR #Writing

There’s a sound barrier, there’s the language barrier, there’s the inclusion barrier, there’s the cultural barrier… I’m currently having a moment with designing an illustration of my methodology that could only be described as the “wtaf barrier”. 🤣

Conflicted word nerd: when a company has a “mint” rewards level just to say to you “you’re in a mint position” - and you don’t know whether to be delighted or furious that capitalism is manipulating you with an attempt at a punny.

I am delighted to report that it is all Sammy J fault that I revisiting the hilarious character Elliot Rhodes from the Australian comedy series Frontline (which is still on Stan!). play.stan.com.au/programs/1811

Not that this surprises me at all. Australia has to contend with the "Kingswood Country" isolationist mindset in public debates in Australia...it may not directly "cause" any particular event but it does hold up a mirror to mainstream cultural norms. theguardian.com/politics/2023/…

Sorry not sorry I haven't been around, but I study the politics of the deliberately ridiculous and Twitter has fallen into the business end of the other-than-deliberately ridiculous bin.

Hi, all. I write jokes for TV, but not long ago I was a financial analyst. I had my Series 7. For those who say Fran Drescher or any SAG-AFTRA member should stop whining and appreciate what they have, let me give you a lesson in capitalism. 🧵

This conversation is important world-wide. Australia has a relatively small audience size compared to the US/UK and so many brilliant artists struggling to find a platform. Ireland and Canada are investing in Universal Basic Income - yet media executives make fortunes.

Making a point on disinformation, Albo asks room full of journos if any of them believed the rubbish claims The Uluru Statement from the Heart is 26 pages — not a single one of them says yes. A powerful exposé of the media's role in knowingly spreading falsehoods.

For those telling mainstream musicians and artists to stay out of politics. Art is political. It is meant to enter everyday thinking and give another perspective. Politics and political conversations (ranging from soothing to disruptive) are what art is for.
