Some initial reflections on the earthquake in Morocco. This looks @ politics and economics. The extent of suffering and human tragedy is hard to put into words. So thank you to all rescue workers, humanitarian orgs, civil society and people helping in every way they can!

The disaster left by #StormDaniel is the responsibility of everyone in power in #Libya. The fact that it was known the storm would hit Libya after Greece but no evacuation plans or any form of mitigation was put in place can say so much! People were simply left to die.

The devastation is as far as the eye can reach. #Derna desperately needs international assistance! Estimates are rising into the thousands of dead. #Libya
