I've written 1,300 words today - I've used a lot of sources from the Madgett collection in the International Bomber Command Centre Digital Archive. A pilot with 61 Squadron, he died with of his crew 18 Aug 1943 on the last op of his tour from RAF Syerston to Peenemünde. NeverMindTheDambusters

Medals & Caterpillar badge etc. Looking at the losses Database and Chorley, only Flight Sergeant Garratt and one other crew member survived from a crew of 8.
