To mark #VEDay, I wrote a tribute in The Spectator to those who served in Bomber Command, often overlooked, after a recent visit to the International Bomber Command Centre. โThe moral tests to which the crew of a bomber were subjected reached the extreme limits of human valour and sacrificeโ. Lincoln Rugby Club are proud to have International Bomber Command Centre as a partner in a weekend of VE80 Lincoln events commemorating the efforts of our fallen and those who served during World War 2. Particularly proud to have them partner with us at our Rugby Tournament on May 10th

Tonight International Bomber Command Centre I will be thinking about the many who failed to return from Bomber Command including P/O Mieczyslaw Ziegenhirte of the Polish 300 Squadron who was killed in February 1945 and had a son Stefan who was born on VE Day and never met his Father.

A pleasure and a privilege to attend tonight's VE Day Commemoration International Bomber Command Centre. I saw the name of Mieczyslaw Ziegenhirte of 300 Squadron and many familiar names amongst the 55,000 losses of Bomber Command. The Beacon ceremony was very special along with the Music and Poppies.

Thanks for that and definitely one for our Digital Archive. Dr Dan Ellin

A wonderful day International Bomber Command Centre with Commonwealth War Graves's For Evermore Tour. We spoke to lots of visitors about our work and reunited several of them with relatives' graves. Thank you to our amazing volunteers Chris and Steve for supporting this event!
