Disabled people don’t just want “reasonable” access and accommodation. Too often, what is “reasonable” is defined by cost and is determined solely by nondisabled people. Disabled people want access and accommodation. Period.

So much hinges on mobility. When a transit authority excludes disabled people, it has an adverse effect on education, employment, health care, socializing and every aspect of life. Inaccessibility is devaluing. Segregation is traumatizing. Exclusion is dehumanizing.
