Really really excited for this - I get to talk to these wonderful people about gestational labour and performative maternity in Emi Yagi's 'Diary of a Void', which is one of the more brilliant novels I've read in a while Broadly Conceived Northern Network for Medical Humanities Research
Thanks for having me! Arts & Humanities PGR Events at King's #marginskcl
Absolutely inspired idea to read the Real Housewives via Silvia Federici and Wages for Housework - well done Anna Shechtman
Run, don't walk, to check out Charlotte J. Fabricius, PhD's book, which comes out this autumn. I have the privilege of engaging with Charlotte's incredible work on a daily basis, and I can tell you right now that you're gonna wanna read this one!
In order to illuminate the otherwise historically under- (if not un-)represented and complex maternal experience of postpartum psychosis, Georgia Poplett uses novel-writing in a Gothic modality. As this short piece also shows, Georgia's work is so compelling and important!
Had a wonderful time at the #ReproductionSalon where I was able to meet so many repro-researchers, as well as Broadly Conceived friends in real life! Thank you Dr. Lucy van de Wiel for a wonderful evening
Last night was a beautiful finish to my stint in London: chat, drinks, and such interesting repro exhibitions with wonderful colleagues and friends and the best view. Thank you to Dr. Lucy van de Wiel for organizing!
Really really REALLY looking forward to this! Broadly Conceived
Melting in the heat? Why not chill out & follow some of the amazing speakers we have lined up for our Sat July 8 conference? Mothering & Motherhood panel: Chaired by Eleanor Franzen, featuring Caroline Tissot Ida Aaskov Dolmer (& GP Linda Miller).
The sheer hubris of me trying to explain the gender/sex system as it relates to mothering AND analysing a novel, all within 15 minutes 😅 Thanks for having me! #BConceived23 Broadly Conceived
“My imagination was no longer a safe space” - Beautiful, incredible, moving conversation between Laura Dockrill and Georgia Poplett on postpartum psychosis in literature #BConceived23
This description of post-work cities with public luxury from Helen Hester and Nick Srnicek ‘After Work’ sounds like a town from The Sims and I love it
Very excited to return to London in July to talk about what climate change and having babies has to do with each other. And speaking alongside these brilliant people will be such a treat! Broadly Conceived Georgia Poplett
